Amandine Pras is Assistant Professor of Digital Audio Arts at the University of Lethbridge in Alberta, and Associate Researcher at Centre Georg Simmel at EHESS Paris. She is PI of the West African Audio Network partnership funded by SSHRC, and a member of the ANR-AFRINUM program directed by ethnomusicologist Emmanuelle Olivier. Over the past three years, her research has focused on enhancing equity, diversity, and inclusion in audio, which led her to teach workshops on recording and mixing techniques in the Women in the Studio program hosted by Music Publisher Canada; at the University Gaston Berger in Saint-Louis (Senegal); and at the Conservatory of Arts, Crafts and Multimedia Balla Fasseké Kouyaté in Bamako (Mali). In parrallel to her academic activities, she pursues a freelance career as a recording engineer and producer of experimental and contemporary musics.
