Developing a Curriculum for Teaching Audio Archiving, Preservation & Restoration
The study of audio archiving, preservation, and restoration lies at the intersection of library science and audio technology. From material science to metadata, audio technology to music history, it is challenging to find single academic programs that cover the skills and information required to practice professional audio archiving. This panel of educators and practitioners will speak to the current gaps in academic programs and propose ideas for curriculum development and collaboration. Additionally, they will elaborate on the skills and knowledge that could be taught within a traditional existing bachelors or master degree audio program.
