Fluctuation in Immersive Productions
Immersive offers the possibility of realistically reproducing spatiality; that is one of its most impressive properties. This gives the listener the feeling of being in the recording room. One of the key parameters in this context is fluctuation: It has a strong influence on the liveliness of the sound and the perceived size of the recording room. Fluctuation appears most pronounced in large churches and concert halls as spatiality of room sound at low frequencies. In popular music, however, the proportion of room sound is relatively low compared to classical music. However, we can create spatiality by moving direct sound.

In his video workshop, Lasse Nipkow explains how he creates spatiality with direct sound from acoustic instruments and synthetic sounds and thus creates fluctuations for Immersive. He does this on the basis of psychoacoustic phenomena and impressive sound samples in stereo.
