Addressing the Void: A missing link⏤Audio Mastering Education
The United Kingdom has shifted higher education (HE) policy from a purely educational standpoint to a vocational one in recent times.  This is against a political backdrop that includes a fierce marketization of the sector, rated by metrics about employability, vocationality and student satisfaction.  Despite this vocationality, one area of audio engineering continues to present a void⏤audio mastering.  Drawing upon data of undergraduate provision and several interviews with lecturers, this paper explores this perceived mismatch in audio mastering training provision and queries whether this is an international phenomenon.
