Chris Nelson is Vice-President of Technology Operations (IT and Audio Engineering) for NPR, a global multimedia news organization and content creator.  Chris oversees a team of developers, technologists and audio engineers across NPR’s three primary production centers in Washington, DC, New York City, NY, and Culver City, California.  He is responsible for daily broadcast technology operations and for developing, prioritizing, and implementing the next generation of innovative production tools, workflows, and architecture to support the organization’s mission.

Chris joined NPR in 2000, spending his first 12 years with the organization as an audio engineer.
