Jim has been the President of the AES Educational Foundation since 2020 and is a professor of recorded music with the Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music in the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University. Jim was the Institute’s Chair from 2004 – 2008. A graduate of the Duquesne University School of Music in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Jim has studied audio engineering at the Eastman School of Music and Sender Freies Berlin and was employed by National Public Radio in Washington, D.C., prior to a freelance career in audio in NYC.
